Benita & Matthias Hinterberger

Benita & Matthias run the Berau with a clear vision: a holiday on Lake Wolfgang should feel relaxed, high-quality and, at the same time, authentic. Together, they are developing the Berau step by step – with a keen sense of atmosphere, cuisine, design and what guests are really looking for today.

The Berau remains closely linked to its history. As a family-run business on Lake Wolfgang, Benita and Matthias focus on warmth, quality and genuine hospitality – without the stuffy atmosphere of a hotel, but with plenty of character and personality.

Raffi & Robert Hinterberger

Raffi and Robert Hinterberger have been running Das Franzl B&B since 2015 with great passion and a keen eye for design and atmosphere. Das Franzl owes its distinctive style to their joint studies in graphic and communication design – as well as many of the creative details at the B&B, including the design of this website.

Katharina – Managing Director

Katharina has been part of Berau for over ten years and, drawing on her wealth of experience, ensures that everything runs smoothly in day-to-day operations. With her overview, organisational skills and calm demeanour, she keeps everything running smoothly and is an important part of the Berau family.

Theresa – HR & Accounting

Theresa looks after our staff and is the point of contact for all HR matters at Berau. She also supports the accounts team and works behind the scenes to ensure that many organisational processes run smoothly – in a structured, attentive and highly committed manner.

Sarah – Head of Reception

Sarah started with an internship at Berau in 2019 and now manages the reception and back office. With her organisational skills, overview and warm personality, she ensures that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes – from check-in to guest services.

Verena – Head of Marketing

Verena heads up marketing at Berau and is responsible for showcasing Berau’s unique atmosphere to the outside world. From the website and social media to campaigns and brand identity, she combines creativity, strategy and an instinctive understanding of what makes Berau on Lake Wolfgang so special.

David – IT, Purchasing & Inventory Management

At Berau, David is responsible for IT, purchasing, warehousing and inventory management. He also works on technical development behind the scenes and ensures that digital workflows, systems and processes run smoothly – in an organised, solution-oriented manner and always with an eye on the bigger picture.

Roland has been part of the Berau team for over 20 years and shapes the cuisine at the Schmankerlstubn with his wealth of experience and flair for regional classics. Seasonal dishes, wholesome ingredients and a passion for Austrian cuisine are at the heart of his work.

Philipp – Schmankerlstubn Service

Philipp is the point of contact for guests at the Schmankerlstubn and ensures that families, regulars and holidaymakers alike feel at home. He is easy-going, attentive and always ready to listen.

Dani Raffa – Head Pizza Chef

At Hias, a lot revolves around pizza – and Dani Raffa knows exactly how it should taste. As a Pizza Doc and multiple participant in the World Pizza Championship, he brings genuine craftsmanship, experience and a great deal of passion to the oven. The result: Neapolitan pizza with character, right on the shores of Lake Wolfgang.

Dani & Valentina – Head of Service

Dani and Valentina ensure that at Hias, good food meets a relaxed atmosphere. With a keen eye for detail, energy and heart, they create a place where you’ll want to linger – whether for dinner, an event or a drink by the lake.

Even on busy days, the pair work like clockwork and are a perfectly coordinated team. Quick, organised and always fully committed, they ensure that everything runs smoothly at Hias.

Heinz – Host at the Berau

Heinz looks after the facilities, the running of the hotel and, above all, the guests at the Berau. With his open manner, he ensures that everyone feels welcome – he is easy-going, attentive and always has an eye for what is needed at any given moment.

Kati – Housekeeping

Kati leads the housekeeping team and, together with her team, ensures that rooms, apartments and all areas of the Berau are prepared with great care. She also takes great care over the breakfast at Hotel Anna am See – so that the day begins just as a holiday on Lake Wolfgang should.

Caretaker Team

Our caretaker team ensures that everything runs smoothly at Berau every day – from the campsite to the technical systems. Whether it’s repairs, maintenance of the facilities or a quick fix here and there: they work hard to ensure that guests feel at home throughout Berau.
